Job Description

SUMMARY:   The Social Media and Marketing Copywrite Specialist is responsible for managing the consistency of the brand voice for Timbers Resorts and each property brand. This role is knowledgeable about Timbers industry, services and product lines and is tailoring messaging to position Timbers at the forefront of the market in all social channels as well as other written communications.


Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification.  Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Manages content for all social channels with determined strategy from Marketing Directors.
  • Resource for writing and communication content for all social channels, nurture emails, website blog posts, website page content, brochure and other marketing collateral materials.
  • Creates content for all aspects of Timbers Resorts business lines including brand, real estate, hospitality, vacation rental, Timbers Reciprocity Program, operations and executives for various marketing channels including print, digital, social and email.
  • Creates and edits all corporate communications and lends support for positioning and editing all proformas and new business development proposals.
  • Assist in Public Relations agency management for Timbers Resorts corporate brand, all active Real Estate projects and Hospitality (both hotel and rental).
  • Actively gathers information company wide for press worthy announcements.
  • Responsible for editing and proofing all marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Manages all brand guidelines copy and regulates copy for brand consistency across all properties and both external (marketing) and internal (training/HR).
  • Possesses and maintains thorough understanding of the luxury hospitality industry and stays abreast of industry trends.
  • Must have strong editing skills and sound knowledge of SEO copywriting strategy and best practices.
  • Creates the company’s Buyer Persona guidelines to produce copy that meets tone and voice objectives for the specified audience and properties.
  • Aligns all content with messaging strategy and marketing goals.
  • Leads content development for high-priority/fast-turn efforts.
  • Monitor analytics to inform future content direction and drive test-and-learn strategy.
  • Partner with SEO and Analytics to maximize editorial efficacy.
  • Conduct and transcribe interviews to run on the blog and manage overall editorial calendar.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or must have 5+ years’ relevant marketing work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of:                               

  • Policies and procedures of Timbers Resorts
  • Principles, practices and techniques of the marketing & digital marketing industry
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Planning, organizing and administering comprehensive reports and presentations
  • Open-source CMS applications such as Drupal and WordPress
  • Professionalism in daily conduct and interactions


Skill in:

  • Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines
  • Using tact, discretion and prudence in daily interactions
  • HTML/CSS, Google AdWords, Analytics & Tag Manager
  • Planning, organizing and prioritizing
  • Managing multiple projects and programs
  • Planning, organizing and administering comprehensive reports and presentations
  • Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials
