SUMMARY:

To coordinate with outside vendors and inter-departmental staff for all needs related to guest programming at Timbers Kauai as directed by the Activities Director. To assist in the creation of new programs as well as the expansion and evolution of current programs designed to enhance the guest experience at Timbers Kauai. To lead guests on a variety of tours both and off property as needed. To assist guests in booking weekly activities and generating custom trip itineraries.  To ensure that the Fitness Center is maintained and kept clean and ready for all guests to use. To assist in prepared food and beverage service at Nalu’s as necessary. To work in coordination with the Pool Attendant staff to create and maintain a clean, inviting, and safe environment around the pools at Kaiholo and Maliula locations. To assist with ongoing and special events. To provide support and assistance with guests and visitors as necessary to maintain and exceed the high standards of the property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the entire property
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of off-property recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities available to guests of Timbers Kauai
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside vendors in coordination with Activities Director
  • Manage all aspects of outside vendors providing services either on or off-property in coordination with Activities Director
  • Generate events calendars for activities and relevant cultural events available to Timbers Guests
  • Anticipate, secure, and manage inter-departmental needs for guest programming
  • Offer support to other departments as needed in coordination with Activities Director
  • Lead both on-property and off-property excursions as directed by the Activities Director
  • Assist in the creation of future tours for owners and guests
  • Maintain all equipment necessary to execute tours safely

GUEST EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR

  • Maintain all Activities Department equipment for use by guests. This includes, but is not limited to: bikes, beach chairs umbrellas, binoculars, kayaks, paddleboards, boogie boards, surfboards, and assorted games.
  • Assist in updating our programming as directed by the Activities Director
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to the Activities Director
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented matter
  • Develop a solid working knowledge of all necessary software programs for guest activity management
  • Be knowledgeable on a daily basis of scheduled and available activities on and off site
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
  • Report any work-related injuries to Human Resources
  • Have a clean and neat appearance

QUALIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • To speak, write, and read English
  • Have a current Hawaii driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Comfort driving large multi-passenger vehicles
  • Have a current CPR/First Aid certification (training provided)

  • To be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

GUEST EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs comfortably and carry weight while executing dynamic movements or activities

  • Work is generally preformed outdoors
  • Noise level of the work environment is generally moderate
  • Work environment may include prolonged ocean exposure
  • Work environment may include challenging and technical terrain in remote locations
