Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of public areas, front and back of house and all assigned areas.  S/he is also responsible for set-ups and must be able to work independently and responsibly to keep busy and be proactive on deep cleaning in public areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification.  Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Use daily checklist to complete projects listed below as assigned:
  • Clean lobbies, glass windows, door frames and threshholds, furniture, stair wells, offices, etc.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
  • Other tasks or projects as assigned by management
  • Comply with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude towards guests and coworkers
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage closets, supplies and stairwells
  • Vacuum all public spaces
  • Support safe work habits and safe work environment(s) at all times
  • Respect all equipment and property and use with care to avoid unnecessary damage
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor/manager in a timely manner
  • Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to the company standards
  • Walk assigned areas at the beginning and end of shift; evaluate priorities and work on anything left pending from previous shift
  • Attends staff meetings and other trainings as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or skill required.

Education and Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) months related experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Correct cleaning procedures for all assigned areas

Abilities:

  • Ability to come top work regularly and on time, follow directions, work with other coworkers and supervisor(s), treat coworkers, supervisor(s) and members/guest with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees of the Company
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several simple standardized situation
